GM USA Satellite Radio And HMI 2.5, HMI 2.0 Module VIN Number Relearn DPS File

I have a 2013 Cadillac SRX with a bad HMI 1.1. I have a HMI 2.0 from a 2014 SRX. Since GM has moved on to SPS2 in the US, how can I retrieve the utility file you need to make the Vin change file?

I see that you haven't answered me. I'm just a little confused as it seems that all I need is to purchase this file to solve my issue of theftlock. Yet, elsewhere on the site you mention needing year, make, vin and utility file of the vehicle and module to make the vin change file. Can you answer my question? Do I not need to provide you with utility file first before you make the vin change file?

Hi, this file used with the GM DPS software will remove the theft lock from the HMI 2,  HMI 2.5 and the radio module.

Thank you. I installed the file and for the life of me can't reset the vin in the HMI module. I installed the zip file in the DPSarch folder, then loaded it having referenced the video. I tried diag pins 1 and also 6-14. What am I missing?

I can confirm that the file works 100% as the infotainment system on this Cadillac works fine now.

This vehicle had multiple other issues that kept the system from working. For anyone more or less familiar GM MOST system let me tell you that it can behave unlike the way SI predicts. So when diagnosing check your grounds for unwanted voltage. If nothing makes sense, check pin drag on connectors where the location of the MOST break is indicated. A scanner will be needed to find the location of the MOST break by locating the "Surrogate Master" module and the module above it. I know I'm throwing names that some are unfamiliar with, but the reason is to allow the inquisitive to research those terms and hopefully get more familiar with the MOST system.

Sorry but I don't get it. It's like you leave your house heading to a strange place then you meet me. You ask me what is the right path without telling me where you're coming from or your destination.

Fwiw I've done nothing on bench before. The Lin bus is for the buttons. Although it's on Lin, HS, and I believe LS, the HMI normally communicates on HS with any automotive scanner. All modules in the network need a wake up signal to communicate on the network.

It is very helpful to know the comm is done on HS, thank you.  I have been reading about LIN, how there is some master module that translates GMLAN to devices on the LIN and have been focusing on that.  But now I will focus on what is missing from the HS circuit, I am thinking the Serial Data Gateway is needed and I have one sitting somewhere.  Or maybe my wiring is bad, I guess I should perhaps try twisting it tightly like I see it done, I just have it flopped everywhere.

You're doing things much more interesting than I do. Like I said I've never hooked up on the bench. I don't know what kind of vehicle it is but you do not need a gateway for bench work. You might need the radio connected

I think you need Bose calibrations for the module. 

You can try using eBay.com to find a high-spec vehicle VIN for your GM model and then use that VIN to program the radio and HMI. I don't have any experience with the Bose system, but I remember reading that the Radio or HMI use different calibrations for Bose equipped vehicles.

2016 and 2017 should be ok.
