As expected. Issue coming from calibration file. That file is not stated in SPS info. No idea how Techline have distributed this for you.

I understand. For further assistance I need to make diagnostic to vehicle (remotely) as will be expensive to come personally

To get correct files you need to state your VIN. As well for brick situation I presume your car been not on BSU/voltage support and drop. That might kill your module. Have few options in your case. U

The utility file does not match the software and calibration files

I’m convinced the module is different than what came with that vin originally.  I’ve been saying it too, this is definitely the wrong calibrations for that module.  I believe it’s been changed …

So I am stuck apparently 😞 , do have a tip to find the right calibration in a TIS2web archive library somewhere ?

If it's not possible , one if my friend owns the same exact car (same model, config, model year , engine , trans, rpo code etc...)

How can I copy (download his files) and put them in my car using DPS  ?

It may be an easier solution ?

After that just need to replace the VIN and let's roll 🙂

Your module is dead most likely then. That is official calibrations from EU SPS. Is not accept Calibration file to be loaded. Will try if can get older files, but not likely. Last resort is VCI request, but there is no guarantee will work. For VCI I have to be connected to car to request it from GM.

  • Author

Ok sir, i can have a car with older files in it, no problem, the question is : how i can extract them from an another car ? Via DPS ?

  • GM Car Hacking Expert
  • Contributor

Nope, u cannot extract it via dps. May be different hardware. To get older calibrations u need VCI

  • Author

ok, so to get number VCI I need to contact AcDelco techline helpdesk, right ?

They will not give you EU vehicle VCI and procedure is different.

  • Author

Do you think it's better to call GM europe ?

  • GM Car Hacking Expert

@Lyubomir Krastanov so ended up in replacing the steering module with a used and programming the VIN and all is perfect now ... I guess trying to update the module was a bad idea and it bricked it...pfff. 🙂

Are the part numbers the same?  I still think that old one is usable but it's not the same one that came with it.  It wouldn't communicate as far as it did if not.  I've just dealt with similar with an FCM.
