program ecm was not in type 4, get controller info, select 11 ecu id, select calibration, find your archieve , program

  • Thank you. This actually worked. I just programmed it regularly (not type 4) and it went through fine. Why did I think this was a type4 in the first place. Oh well.

  • Lolzzz, congratulations 🎉

Can someone please share this file. Somehow I don't have it in that folder, although all the spsCache files got downloaded.

Thanks!

I don't have that either. Typically when I see that error, it's something wrong with the Type 4 app. Did you build the Type 4 zip yourself?

Before running the T4 app:

At this point, the folder will still be empty:

Once you actually run the app, it will extract what it uses throughout the process:

As you can see, the files are here now:

So from what I'm seeing, your T4 App might be broken. Can you show an image of the file list like I did?

Admittedly I do not know what I am doing, but this is what I done.

I am trying to reprogram the ECM on a 2019 Express van 2.8.

1) Unzipped 11 files that got put in spsCache. From those 11 files, 8 are bin files that match the SPS CALID website, 1 is a XML, 1 utility file and 1 unknown, but when looked at with a hex editor it contains "This program cannot be run in DOS mode".

The 8 bin files do not have the number in the 4th byte as usual, instead they all begin with "FF FF FF FF 00 00 00".

2) So I opened SPSVCS.log and in there found how to build the DPS archive, however it only uses the utility and 8 bin files.

3) Built the archive and now get this type4app.dll error.

So I clearly did something wrong, and missed a step or more. I do not know where and how to use the XML and the unknown file.
