You are right I was typing quick and brain not functioning at 6am local time for me when typing that 120R not 120K

All good he does not need one anyway to get power to the MDI2 all you need is power and 2 grounds nothing more to power up the MDI or MDI2 or any J2534 device on the OBD2 port.
The communication lines can be set up after.

That is what I told him in a previous message he said he had 12.9v but if power supply failing it might have the volts but not the amps to fire up the MDI2 and a ECU
I run 13.2v at 10amp and never have an issue with any ECU's or other modules even multiple

i use 40A SMPS/UPS converted with 70AH battery

I will check that later on. But, I literally can use any other J2534 to work on bench. Cardaq3, Maxiflash, JVCI, etc.

Is just the MDI2.

I can guarantee is not a power issue. I don't know what it is yet, but, I think is going to be a configuration issue.

Update: Found the problem. It was my twin obd cable.

I had another one and all good. Now, this is my problem:

Im sorry about it. The main problem was the MDI2 not powering up which I just found th eproblem.

Did you select pin 1 as you are trying to read module 60 which is on the GM Lan bus which is pin 1 not 6 & 14 which are CAN

You moved the screen so cannot see your settings

Yes, of course.

It works with any other J2534.

It seems to be a driver issue.

Brother, I appreciate a lot of you trying to help. Im always busy at my shop. Anyhow, let me PM you so you can try.

The MDI SETUP v8.5 and MDI2 v9.1 don't seem to mix up well. The MDI2 was not connecting. I had to delete the MDI SETUP V8.5.

Check if this applies to your case.
