Hi everyone.

I’ve had some questions over the last day about: How do I connect to the Global TIS database?

 

First, let’s decide what kind of instruments we need:

• - Dbvisualizer (version >= 10)

• - Transbase JDBC driver to create connection

• - GlobalTIS v32

• - Understanding that everything you do, you do at your own risk

 

And so, you successfully downloaded and installed GlobalTIS and DBVisualizer, what’s next?

 

1. Let's configure DbVisulizer app: 

 

First, you need add new driver into `Toold -> Driver Manager`

See on screen below for correct setting.

P.S.: Don’t forget to import the JDBC driver file itself, it is in the GlobalTIS folder (C:\Program Files\GlobalTIS\transbase\tbjdbc.jar)
 

2. Let's create new connectin to database.. with RPO data, for example:

 Use 'Database -> Create Database Connection`, attached a picture with an example of settings below.

 

 

P.S.: Almost forgot to share credentials with you to access the database 🙂 

login: tbadmin
password: dgs

 

All database list you can find here: C:\Program Files\GlobalTIS\transbase\dblist.ini

 

SPS works with this databases: 

 

t2w_spsgadb - most important
t2w_spsdadb
t2w_spsnadb

 

If you did it right, the connection will open up and you can run through the tables and learn what the miracle is.

Have fun, but remember you can break your car unit  with uncorrect calibration files 🙂 

  

Thanks for the instructions, I managed to connect, but it’s not clear how I can find and download the necessary calibrations?

Yes of course.

Install and configure DBvisualizer, and explore the database. Cal files are stored in BLOBS "folder".

Okay I found in All databases the SPS Blobs but i dont know how this relate to the Partnumber and the Orginal Calb filename

Look around, it's all there and very simple (take notes on how columns are named).
Invest a little bit of your time, like we did.

Okay i think i have found the calb .Bin files. Are the XML files also stored there ? I know everybody inverstet time in this. But I thought I didn't have to reinvent the wheel when there are so many clever people here

Everything relevant is there - .BIN files, XMLs and DLL for Type4 apps too.
It's the same thing you get from payed online access to SPS, just for free and heavily outdated..

As I've said before - explore and document your findings, and then things will start to make sense.
Here is an example of what I did first.

Export data to Excel and filter things out.

Absolutely right.

By any chance, you haven't figured out how to change the RPO codes.

I figured out how to swap one calibration for another and flash the SPS.
