If it just did it on it's own, it's possible the memory in the HMI is corrupt but it's worth trying the reload.

The HMI part number is required to download the correct software.

Without this, the help you can receive is greatly reduced...

There are countless hmi, with navigation, without navigation....

I understand that no one can or wants to share their access to techine. It's like you give him the keys to your house...

Anyway, in the state "Waiting for update media" SPS I think can't communicate with the HMI

If you want someone here to help you, you should at least indicate the part number of your HMI

Good luck

I can get it for you too.  Are you serious?  They told you the amplifier?  If so, they're so far off it's not even funny!

99% of the time if you go through the part #'s, you get the same USB (as long as it's Nav vs not nav).  You'll find though the part #'s loop and give the same USB download.  It loops through all of the countries.  The 2017ish area in NA you can't download anymore but prior to that you can.  And if you try to load the EU to NA for example, it'll reject it.  I can't remember off of the top of my head (I have a screenshot somewhere) but embedded in the HMI's are actually an ID (no, not the 8 digit part #) that the update looks at prior to loading.

For example, these two part #'s are identical USB updates:

GM also does a check on the hash....  lots of people have tried modifying these files with no luck (need the private key).  Also note, the ID I mentioned in my earlier reply controls what USB software it will allow you to load.

Fortunately this isn't like the CALs where you'd be changing functionality.  The unit will either allow the update or reject it.  If you try a EU on a NA unit, it'll say the file is invalid (I've tried it).

Hello, I will join the thread. In order to install the EU maps, avoiding the "Invalid files" label, I changed the Hmi calibration "country" to EU calibration. Then the maps got to 99% installed and the "invalid files" message popped up again. Unfortunately, it was not possible to complete this work

If you not like to share your VIN then why you look for help in public forum?!? Just sent car in nearest dealer and tell them to fix it 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ u not trust to share your VIN…VIN is required to enter GM servers and obtain correct files for your vehicle…but because you got no idea how is work…you will stay with dead media. Not sure if someone willing to help you at all.

Each part has its own number, when they are put together in one place, we have a vin number that indicates what is included in this car. You can see the vin number on the windshield on the left side of the car. Vin indicates the year of manufacture and what parts are assembled in car.
