What is ELR mod?

The Cadillac ELR and Chevrolet Volt shares almost Identical drivetrain components. GM came out with the Cadillac ELR in 2013 that has more power compared to the Chevy Volt. Some smart minds found a way to take the programming of the ELR and transfer it directly to the Chevy Volt resulting in more power for the Volt. This club will show you how to unlock the potential of your Chevy Volt or Cadillac ELR. Currently a group effort is being made to modify the code to suit customization needs. Please feel free to share any insight you may have on how to make more modifications.

The ELR mod on a Chevy Volt is is only available from 2013 to 2015 Volt:

2014 ELR mod specs

2016 ELR mod specs

I would check to make sure that your HPCM2 ECU is the same part# as what is installed on the ELR and that the pinouts are the same. If they match, I think you should be safe to try to flash the ELR HP

I have a 2014 ELR and I am new to the DPS scene. Can I just grab the HPCM2 calibration from a 16 ELR and flash it onto my car with DPS and unlock the additional power? Or is there physical hardware change that I need? Thank you

This guide is only for 2014 ELR power. 2016 ELR will have a guide in the future since it requires different hardware, changing wiring, and certain years need certain hardware replaced. You can't flash 2016 ELR hybrid2 firmware into any hybrid2 module 2011 - 2015 Volt. It will not accept it since the hardware is incompatible.

Thank you for all of the hard work put in to realize/make this possible.

I have a VCX Nano and an SPS 2 subscription I used to successfully program a BICM I replaced on a "Propulsion Power Reduced" 2013 Volt I recently bought (battery is in great condition with only ~88,000 mostly highway miles on the car, I just had 0v reading on cells 43-50 when it was cold outside).
Would it be possible to apply the 2014 ELR mod with the software/hardware I have?

If not, what else should I need?

I want to show to family/friends what the Chevrolet Volt is really capable of, they still think I bought a glorified Prius.

I'm not sure if the BECM needs to be reflashed as well

I know I'm late to the show, but wondering.. I have a gen2 18 model Volt, the ELR mod is it for gen 2 cars or more hyperfocused on gen 1?

With additional KW, is this any harder on the drivetrain/battery lifespan for the Volt?
