The TCM is a weird module. Another member is having the same issues as you. DPS can read the ECU info, it shows the VIN, but the seed is not displayed. I'm getting errors when using both DPS and sps to program the module. Dps also gives an error sometimes when trying to read the TCM info. I'm now wondering if the TCM that stores a VIN is a one time programmable module?

I run SPS2 TCM conf @ setup , it downloads, but do not install, cannot get communication to TCM in car with GDS2.

The other TCM Gen3 I can communicate with on bench, but do not know if it will work on car if I can get the Vin changed and program it on SPS.

 

 

Troy the Modules are programmable, because there are hardware and software that can read and write the EEPROM file of the 6t30/40.

Like I/O Terminal. This is more for Cloning ECU.s and TCM,s. Can get this clone bin files on web, but do not no if DPS can modify this bin file vin and write it to TCM.

Troy do you have a 6t30/35/40ext TCM to practice on the bench to create the Utility file to do the VIN change. If you need any info from my Gen3 I will support.

I already tried to create a vin change for a Malibu 2016 TCM, which also stores a vin. Both the faulty and used replacement TCM wouldn’t accept programming. Both sps and dps gives error saying it cannot communicate with TCM. I can’t figure out why the tcm won’t accept programming via dps and sps. 

Troy. SPS2 is working on the bench on the 2016 Astra TCM 6t35 ( 24275318 ),can do Configuration and Setup on SPS2.

Do not have DPS yet. That's why I am on this site to see if we can get it write before I buy.

Can you program the TCM on bench using the sps programming option? Not setup configuration 

No, just before it wants to start download it verify the VIN and see its a VIN mismatch and fail with Hardware mismatch.

Do you know install Calibaration of TCM by DPS program?

Hi Hero, No not yet. I cannot communicate with the 24256525 GEN1 TCM.I have both on the bench now. The 24275318 GEN3 I can communicate, but do not know if your Calibration file will work on that one. I do not have DPS yet, because I first want to be sure if I can do VIN change before I pay  $40 on this site to download it.

Troy is all so struggling to create archive for TCM, and not coming rite. Did you managed to do VIN change on Gen2 or 3 TCM ( 6t30/40 ).

I tried to program a used tcm for 2009 chevrolet traverse today, techline connect gets to 99% then starts retrying and i know its because of the bin overwrite issue but how can i create a dps archive with the bin files when i go to flash it with dps and it lists the ecm/tcm sequence together it doesnt let you program just tcm so how would i program both or just the tcm with dps and force it to program new vin or can dps do this?? starting to think that dps can not do anything with these global a/b and i will have to read eeprom with ktag and do it that way

i experience a lot about that issue,, problem is account server,, its tested... using low cost tlc account that is not yours,auto login,, using vsp account (dealer) or acdelco sub works fine....the good thing was all calibration and utility was already save on your pc,, on spscache folder that you can create for dps archive...

 

 

i have tried on my login and a friends login to acdelco same thing, is there any way to blank or virginize global a/b ecus with dps so that gm will flash vin

Traverse 2009 is not Global A and it does not have issue with used TCM. I think its operating system  software incompatibility. From which car and  year model you got the TCM?

Will I be able to get TCM back up with DPS 4.44 and SPS.

Once the calibration files downloaded, files already on SPS cache folder, even hardware mismatch or unfinish programming any module,, file save on SPScache is the backup file , convert file to dps archieve, no need online again in any same modules..

What result  you get with SPS, you will get with DPS if incompatibility present. Mostly error in padding or error in programming at end.

on Bench ECM and TCM need 120 ohms resistor on HSGMLAN(6, 14) ,, data bus need 60 ohms resistance,, ecm already have internal 120 ohms resistor.
