I have a 2015 Cruze BCM. Will this 3 byte work to change VIN?

It may not work.

If you send me your Cruze BCM calibration files, I can create the vin change file for you.

Here is the tutorial which shows how to get the calibration files and how to identify the module's utility file.

Hello there. I'm trying to program the Vin Number on a 2006 Pontiac Montana (i was able to connect using "Type 2" or "Class2" protocol.

but it seems that the BCM files for 2-Byte Seed are Type4.

Is there any way we can change this BCM Vin with DPS?

Thanks

Hi, need to program vin to bcm of 2014 gmc Sierra 1500 pickup . new module programed and updated fine with sps2 but missing vin number and cant learn security. Vehicle was missing original bcm and replaced with new dealer bcm. tec2web no longer available for rewriting vin to modules . subscibed to this group for help.

Hi, when installing a used BCM, you must change both the VIN and PIN in the used BCM. To change the PIN, you must know the PIN that's already in the used module. You can know the used BCM PIN by converting the used BCM VIN to PIN using the VIN to PIN service.

The BCM PIN and VIN change files are located in the download section. If your vehicle is not listed, send me the BCM calibration files, and I'll create the VIN and PIN change files.

Body Control Module Programming and Setup

Note:

  • DO NOT program a control module unless directed to by a service procedure or a service bulletin. If the control module is not properly configured with the correct calibration software, the control module will not control all of the vehicle features properly.
  • Ensure the programming tool is equipped with the latest software and is securely connected to the data link connector. If there is an interruption during programming, programming failure or control module damage may occur.
  • Stable battery voltage is critical during programming. Any fluctuation, spiking, over voltage or loss of voltage will interrupt programming. When required, install a battery maintainer or power supply that provides a steady and stable voltage. DO NOT use a battery charger, as charging voltage will often fluctuate when connected to the vehicle. This may interrupt programing. If a battery maintainer is not available, connect a fully charged 12 V jumper or booster pack disconnected from the AC voltage supply.
  • Turn OFF or disable systems that may put a load on the vehicles battery such as; interior lights, exterior lights (including daytime running lights), HVAC, radio, etc.
  • During the programming procedure, follow the SPS prompts for the correct ignition switch position.
  • Clear DTCs after programming is complete. Clearing powertrain DTCs will set the Inspection/Maintenance (I/M) system status indicators to NO.

Replace and Program Control Module

Note: A minimum of two valid keys (or keys with integrated transmitters) have to be present before proceeding with the following steps.

To program a replacement K9 Body Control Module (BCM), perform the following procedure:

Note: Make sure the vehicle ignition switch state is in appropriate position for the following step.

  • For Key Ignition System, begin with the ignition in the RUN position.
  • For Push Button Start System, begin with the vehicle in vehicle OFF power mode. The Service Programming System will power mode the vehicle.

Note: The following programming step may take between 10–12 min and progress will appear to have stopped during this process. This is a normal security timer response and a restart should not be performed.

  • If the DTC B389A sets immediately after programming a replacement K9 Body Control Module, the Immobilizer Learn procedure was not properly completed. The Immobilizer Learn procedure needs to be performed again.
  • If the DTC B3031 sets immediately after programming a replacement K9 Body Control Module, the Immobilizer Learn procedure needs to be performed again with a minimum of two valid keys (or keys with integrated transmitters).
  • For Fleet vehicles with RPO option 9C1 or 5W4, ONLY use a NEW Fleet key when performing the Immobilizer Learn procedure. If a non-fleet key or a fleet key that had been previously learned to another vehicle is used during the Immobilizer Learn, the K9 Body Control Module will not learn/convert to Fleet mode. Refer to PIT5466 for more information and fleet key part numbers. Also refer to PI1369 for instructions on how to learn more than 8 Fleet keys properly.

Note: When performing the Tire Pressure Monitor Sensor Learn during K9 Body Control Module setup, the EL-52545 Tire Pressure Monitor Sensor and RF Diagnostic Tool must be used to activate each tire pressure sensor for vehicles with UJM.

  • For Key Ignition System, begin with the ignition in the RUN position.
  • For Push Button Start System, begin with the vehicle in vehicle ON power mode.

Note: If the vehicle has keys with integrated transmitters, this step is not required because the integrated transmitters were already learned during the immobilizer learn process along with the keys.

  1. Access the Service Programming System (SPS) and follow the on-screen instructions.
  2. On the SPS Supported Controllers screen, select K9 Body Control Module - Programming and follow the on-screen instructions.

Remote Control Door Lock Transmitter Learn
Erase/Program All Key Fobs

Note:

  • Verify all mechanical keys operate correctly before beginning any programming procedures.
  • All transmitters must be programmed in a single programming sequence. Once the Erase/Program All Key Fobs selection is made, all learned transmitters will be erased. If all the existing transmitters associated with the vehicle are not learned at this time, they will become inoperative and require additional programming.
  • Do not operate or program the transmitters in the vicinity of other vehicles that are in the transmitter program mode. This will prevent the programming of the transmitters to the incorrect vehicle.

This procedure will first erase all known keyless entry transmitters. After all transmitters are erased, the procedure will begin to program keyless entry transmitters in sequential order, beginning with transmitter 1.

  1. With a scan tool, access the Body Control Module Configuration/Reset Functions menu. Select Add/Replace Key Fobs.
  2. Select Erase/Program Fobs. This will erase all learned transmitters and prepare the BCM to learn new transmitters. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  3. When all the desired transmitters have been programmed, cycle the ignition from ON to OFF, and exit the vehicle.
  4. Verify each transmitter and key is operating properly. Operate each of the keyless entry functions using the buttons on the transmitter. On vehicles with a keyed ignition switch, verify the mechanical key by starting the vehicle using the ignition switch. When verifying operation, make sure that no other transmitters are near the vehicle.
Next Available Slot

Note:

  • Verify all mechanical keys operate correctly before beginning any programming procedures.
  • Do not operate or program the transmitters in the vicinity of other vehicles that are in the transmitter program mode. This will prevent the programming of the transmitters to the incorrect vehicle.

This procedure will program keyless entry transmitters in sequential order. If two transmitters are currently learned to the vehicle as transmitters 1 and 2, using this procedure will learn the next transmitter are transmitter 3, and so on.

  1. With a scan tool, access the Body Control Module Configuration/Reset Functions menu. Select Add/Replace Key Fobs.
  2. Select Next Available Slot.
Slot Programming

Note:

  • Verify all mechanical keys operate correctly before beginning any programming procedures.
  • If a slot already has a transmitter programmed to it, programming will not occur. A transmitter will only program to an open slot with no transmitter already programmed to it.
  • Do not operate or program the transmitters in the vicinity of other vehicles that are in the keyless entry program mode. This prevents the programming of the transmitters to the incorrect vehicle.

Transmitter slot programming allows a single transmitter to be programmed into a specific slot without affecting any of the other programmed transmitters.

  1. With a scan tool, access the Body Control Module Configuration/Reset Functions menu. Select Add/Replace Key Fobs.
  2. Select the desired slot in the on-screen menu.
When verifying operation, make sure that no other transmitters are near the vehicle.

the bcm installed was virgin, Brand New bought from dealer. no old vin number to change car complains of not having a vin in that module. code B101E-47 BCM SOFTWARE- VIN NOT PROGRAMMED

If the BCM is new, you have to do a programming (SPS2), to program its calibrations. and you will then have to do an installation and configuration and relearn the used vehicle keys. (BCM replacement) The process should be almost automatic. Just follow the steps to relearn the keys and maybe the brake sensor. If the immobilizer learning menu does not appear, in SPS2 you have to launch option Z1. Oh, and you'll also probably have to readjust the mileage.
