A little about myself: I work full time as an automotive electrical diagnostician, and I’m also going to school just short of full time in pursuit of a degree in electrical engineering. At work, I’m the main diagnostic technician. I handle everything from no-crank/no-starts, CAN bus faults, module programming, and pretty much anything else diagnostic. The only thing I really stop at is internal drivetrain failure, i.e. internal engine, transmission, differential, transfer case, etc. work.

I’m fairly fluent with most OEM scan tools, especially SPS2, IDS, FDRS, and WiTECH. I work primarily on passenger vehicles and light-duty trucks, but I occasionally work on heavy-duty trucks, tractor trailers, police interceptors, and armored government vehicles.

I’m only now starting to teach myself how to manually read and edit bin files, mostly for immobilizer issues and module virginization. I’m planning to buy an Xhorse Multi-Prog Programmer here shortly, and I already have one hell of a first project to tackle once it comes in. I’ll be making a separate post about that issue very soon, because I’m curious whether anyone here has run into it before.
