Exactly, I've already seen that and it's clear. But I thought that DPS is better, only it's the same. Now I understand it. Thank you for your support.

Hello,

First, start with writing your messages in English - as written in the forum rules...

Second, what do you mean by "programming a TXT"? Usually all calibration files are provided and programmed to vehicles as BIN files.

Good evening, thank you very much for the hint.Since the page is translated by me, I did not notice that it is English speaking.

For two. When I connect to the control unit on Get Controller Info or on the Vehicel Communications Data Display. Can I click on Save Data to.TXT File at the bottom right and the ECU data will be saved as a text file under Logs. How can I now program this data to a new or different control unit?

You can't. That's just a log with information on ID numbers of software (calibrations).

It does not contain any program code which you can reprogram other control units with.

As an analogy - you cannot know the whole content of a book by just reading the title.

And if you think of a programming log - well, you already have an archive/files to program a module with. You can use them again, and again...

Thank you very much for the info. Then I understood DPS differently. So reading out the control units doesn't help me and can't change anything? In the archive I have there are only empty files.

Which DPS version is the best. With which I can also program something?or what else do I need? I also have Opels from the year 2004-2010. Under Globeltis there is not an access/programming for all ECUs. I had thought that this would work with DPS?

You can't change anything directly with just reading a module with DPS.

I/we cannot comment on your "empty archives" without seeing any examples - post here screenshots or the archives.

All available DPS versions have more or less the same functionality. Better to use more recent ones - they have less bugs. For me personally v4.52 or 4.54 seems more stable, but you can try 4.56 too.

Pre 2010 OPEL vehicles have pretty limited programming options - DPS won't change this fact.

SPS in GlobalTIS and DPS are basically the same thing but with different interface.

GlobalTIS is "locked" to the VIN, while in DPS you have much more freedom of action. But the downside is - you must have files (calibrations or DLLs) to achieve anything in DPS, while SPS have a database with files.

you misunderstand OP, he mean when get controller info via DPS, he don't have archive. OP simple read module information via DPS, same as GDS2 identification page for each module. I think that is more clear.

Hello, I have version 4.52.2000 without Type 4.

1.In the attachment sreenshots from the CDC control unit read out.

2.The empty files.

3.I had thought I could create my own files in the SPAT of control units that I can read out? There is no software for the CDC control unit via PLC and would like to read, save and program it on a used CDC control unit?

1) You are just reading the "headers" - what software numbers (calibration ID) is currently inside a module. Only the NAME, not the binary code itself.

2) Yeah, these do exactly what their filename says - set MEC counter to zero.

What is MEC - you can read on this forum, or search on the Internet, or read a manual from GM (the infamous GMW3110).

3) Yes, you can create your own archive (that what I meant by "freedom" in my previous reply), but from .BIN blobs from SPS cache folder (after an online session), or from dumping BIN files from GlobalTIS v32 database.

NOT EVERY module can be programmed - no matter the tool (GlobalTIS or DPS). ESPECIALLY on pre-GlobalA platform vehicles (generally speaking - everything before MY2010).

To program a used module to a vehicle (pre-GlobalA) - need to use Tech2 tool or OP-COM.

Or you must open the module and connect directly to a microchip with a programmer to read/write the data.

Thank you very much for the detailed explanation. I already suspected it.

get controller info works in units from Astra H, vectra c.... like CDC ecu 13104879, you will get the diagnostic data allowed by the unit, but if in SPS dont have controllers to use, this controllers cant be programmed using DPS/SPS, i means, if CDC ecu not show in SPS, you cant use SPS/DPS to programm it

Example Vin from astra h in globaltis 32:
