What's the question really?
VCX nano is HARDWARE. GDS2 is SOFTWARE, which requires a hardware to work with vehicles.

You can use VCX adapter with other OEM software which can work with J2534.
You can use GDS2 with almost any J2534 complaint adapter.

Did you mean "MDI2", by any chance?
Anyway, there are no MDI2 clones available, and running any VCX device or MDI clone will get you banned when connecting to GM services.
So if you are planning to use SPS/TLC at any point in the future - better look for another J2534 adapter.

New to this.

Specifically, I see the VCX Nano on the VCX site with "Powerd for OEM" branded on the device.
All other places to purchase I see "Powerd for GDS2" branded on the device.

Is there a difference?

Don't know, ask the seller.. Probably some VCX licensing thing.
