SDM Cruze 2011 PIN change

Featured Replies

Hi,

First of all, sorry for the wrongly placed post in the sales section.

I need to adapt a SDM module from a donor, but I don't know the PIN.

It seems that it is not possible to determine the PIN from the VIN or from the file, so I am asking if you have a full read of the MAC7242 from SDM 13505823 with a known PIN? I would try to clone it and then adapt it.

Thank you and have a nice day.

Hi,

I reprogrammed SDM modules a few months ago.

In the logfiles I can see, that PIN is only written at the end of the programming session.

That means no known PIN from the SDM module is necessary for programming.

After programming PIN is clear and given PIN (your vehicle PIN) from DPS is used.

You have to do a type 4 config after programming for setting SDM system into work in your vehicle.

Good luck...

Toby

Thanks for the response.

So if I reprogram the SDM with globaltis sps, the saved pin will be erased, and will it be possible to write a new pin with DPS?

That is incorrect.

To program - with DPS, yes, you do not need to know original PIN. SPS will ask you to enter both PINs before starting flashing.

To adapt a used module to a car - must know both PINs.

If it was virginized beforehand (prepare module for removal) - only vehicle PIN will be necessary and written at the end of programming session.

Thanks for the confirmation.

The only option left is to go the route of another module with a known pin, or a new one.

Hi,

I installed the SDM with a known pin, started the SPS to prepare for disassembly, entered the donor pin.

It went fine, the unit without a pin and configuration. The car can now be started.

Then I started the configuration, the SPS no longer wanted any pin.

The procedure is complete, everything works, no faults, but the VIN remained the original from the donor.

Is this normal?

V.K.

If this does not bother you/your client - leave it be..
If you can provide utility file from SPS cache folder, or share this vehicle's VIN - can have a look what can be done

I'll leave it at that. I was just surprised.

Thanks
