Infotainment 3 2017 Cruze steering wheel control issue

Hi, I am fitting a LG IL7FF 3.5 unit from a US 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer into a 2017 Chevy Cruze to add wireless Carplay/Android auto into the vehicle, which only came with wired functionality. The original unit is LG LC7F which I will picture the two units so you can tell the difference. I had to convert the connections as they have changed since the 2018/2019 model year

The radio works flawlessly, beside the steering wheel control. The speech/mute buttons are mapped to the arrows that control the IPC and not to the actual buttons themselves. So when you navigate the IPC it mutes the audio or activates siri. Is there a way to correctly map the controls ? It doesn’t really make sense as the steering wheel between the two models are very similar and use identical IPC. Any help is appreciated, would really like to use this new unit

Your best bet I think is using the matching Blazer IPC. This way the IPC sends the correct commands to the radio.

I updated the IPC in our Cruze and the steering wheel buttons changed and did not work correctly and longer with the radio and the IPC I used was only used with the HMI radio.

I guess I should say the cluster software is identical, but they are not the exact cluster. Maybe I can flash a calibration from a Trail Blazer onto the cruze?

Interesting. It might work if the OS is the same on the Cruze cluster for the Blazer calibrations.

I was driving a Trailblazer today. Looking further the cluster software is the same as the 17+ Malibu UDC. The Cruze uses icons for menu selection on top, while the Malibu shows it in text (trip/vehicle/eco) like the blazer. I may have better luck using a Malibu calibration but I am not sure where I can get them.

That sound like a brocken resistor later in the steering button or a storted button.

If a button is pressed to long ,tha system disable that and set a dtc

Any dtc's?

Thanks for files, sorry for the delay in response I had to pay for other things and save up for contributor access, I'm able to get it now but I have some questions.. how can I flash it in dps? And can I still go back to original if it fails? I do have the subscription for the car in sps so I can get original calibrations

The controls work fine when the stock radio is connected..
