2019 Cadillac CTS Vsport IPC Swap

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I am wanting to swap out my base vsport cluster to the premium digital.

What are the proper steps to do so with a used cluster from a 19 premium vsport. I assume we have to change the vin? Can it be done with sps, or dps? I would need to remove the HUD feature as my vehicle won't have that installed.

Thank you for helping out if you can.

Assuming you already have the speedometer,

Change VIN

Change PIN (The PIN must be changed to eliminate the incorrect environment error, relearning the keys)

Configure the speedometer with the XML according to the RPO configuration of your car, so that it works as it should

All with DPS, SPS don't change vin/pin

Thanks for your reply @Arbe_gtcI do have the cluster. Does it matter the version of DPS? I think I remember seeing DPS around. Should I use a vin for the upgraded cluster to get files from sps to have an xml to start with?

I don't know how to change vin/pin but I see some tutorials here that are paid for that. Can these be changed using canbus commands or I'd have to pay for the files here?

In principle, with any version of DPS you can do it. And no, you can't change it with commands via can, at least not easily.

To configure, you will need to get the calibrations and the configuration XML.

And with the XML, the VIN is the easiest part to change. Keep the original VIN, since you will need it to get the PIN to change it.

Ok, I'll work on taking the dash apart to connect the cluster so I can use sps to get the files. Im told this can't be done on a bench without other modules. I assume these files will have the original VIN in the xml? Also, can the new cluster PIN be changed to match the car so SPS can be used in the future? Thanks for all of your help @Arbe_gtc

Thank you for your help so far! With the help of a friend who is much smarter than me, I have made some progress the hard way. I was able to read and edit the eeprom to change the pin/vin. I installed the IPC and at first a few things were not working.

1. "Track" mode was missing from mode selections.

2. The crash alert on the wheel did nothing.

3. There was a message about Service AWD.

I then logged in to SPS and performed a setup and config. That made some things work and others broken.

1. The AWD message was fixed

2. The crash detection alerts button was working on the wheel

3. Track mode was now back in the menu and working.

Things that are now NOT working

RPM Gauge is not working

Boost gauge is not working. It is available in the MENU pages, but does not show in the menus at all.

I need a little help with the XML configuration and then getting that set up in DPS to write it back.

Can someone help me to get that part figured out please? I think its just those 2 things and I'll be all set!
