New to programming... ADVICE?!?!

Featured Replies

So I'm relatively new to programming & hacking vehicle modules & I'm hoping there's someone on here that might be able to help me out so I don't have to give Chris white any more money! I've messaged Troy a few times but I'm sure he gets a hundred messages a day so I don't really blame him for the short undescriptive answers. Basically what I'm wondering, is how did every one om here learn how modules work & what you need to do in order to hack them? I've been trying to learn how coding works but that doesn't seem to be leading me in the right direction. Troy told me to start by reading all the forums on here but I think that's given me more questions than it has answers. Really I'm wanting to add heated, cooled, and memory seats to my truck but in order to do that I've got to program the modules to my vin & om completely and utterly lost on how to go about doing that, or even how to connect the module by its self to my mdi2 so that I could even program it with dps, along with the ipc in order to add the features as well. Please help 🙏🏻

I drive a 2017 chevy silverado 1500 3GCUKREC6HG249297, im wanting to add heated/cooled memory seats. My truck did not come with even heated seats from the factory but I've purchased the custom bcm programming needed in order for them to atleast have heat. To add the memory function I know that I have to replace all the heated/cooled circuitry in favor for that of the memory, plus add about 12 new circuits. But what I'm stuck on is with the memory seats it adds in a memory seat control module which i believe will need be programmed, along with a heated seat control module, which I believe will not need to be programmed because the bcm is the master for that module. & lastly the ipc will have to be reprogrammed and have the heated/cooled and memory seats added to it as well, so that I will be able to adjust the convenience settings pertaining to both systems.

you need to get VIN of vehicle which comes with these options, then you can download required calibrations for BCM and IPC, beside that wiring harness connection should match for this you need to have wiring diagram of both vehicles.

I appreciate it bro I actually work at a chevy dealership so I have already printed all the diagrams out because I knew I was going to have to run all the wiring for everything, I've just really been stressing on the programming side of it. I will be able to get the vin of a truck with these options, so which courses do I need to purchase in order to learn how to get the files I need for the ipc? I've already got the bcm part taken care of, before I learned about this website I bought an autosync programming device & paid for the custom bcm programming which allows me to add heated & cooled seats, but not memory because the memory has nothing to do with the bcm it's all the memory control module & ipc. Thank you for all your help bro!!

you can download calibration files using 2017-2018 VIN with RPO KA1, KQV

So I actually work as a tech at a gm dealership so I have access to service information & sps & have a mdi 2 & all that, which class(s) do I need to take in order to learn how to get and install the calibration files using dps
