I am wanting to swap a denali uplevel cluster from a 2014 denali truck to my 2015 silverado 1500. I have purchased the used cluster, its off a 2014 sierra 6.0 my truck is a 5.3 1500. From my understanding they will work as long as i can get it programmed correctly. I am wondering the process I need to take to change the vin and pin off the used cluster to make it work with my truck. Do i just plug the cluster into my truck and do a reprogram with sps?

I did the same thing with my 2015 silverado using a high country cluster. Looks great the only issues which I still have to correct is the RPO error codes come up on the cluster. front camera, side detection, rear park sensors errors. So from what I gather is like what LLCasol said. But then you have to change your RPO codes. So you have to download the calibration files for the denali cluster and the xml build sheet. change the codes and then you have to reprogram the cluster using DPS. But I still need to research how to update the xml build sheet.

Minimum (from my experience with a 2016 Denali into my 17 Silverado) is change the vin with DPS and Troy's vin change file.  That will allow the IPC to pull your mileage from the BCM and act correctly.  Depending on what RPO's are different from the donor and yours you may get messages to check systems etc, but it will function. 

 

I'm currently working on fine tuning my setup to get rid of error messages and get it dialed in to my RPO's.

Some of it sits in the calibrations as well.  Really, what one should do is:

 

IPC VIN Change

IPC PIN Change (although, you can get away with this if not too many modules are mismatched - I'd still do it)

Calibrations as some of the RPO's, warnings, etc are actually in there

IPC Configuration - Note:  May even need to do process of elimination on this one as not everything is in the XML Config.
