Possible to add transmission temp to Express van IPC DIC?

Featured Replies

I wonder if even possible to add transmission temperature display to the DIC in a 08+ Express van.

07-14 GMT-900 Silverado etc have the trans temp displayed in the DIC, but the vans do not, although it is very useful when towing trailers in the mountains.

I have DPS and can pull files from the SPS.

I found the clear text in the binaries.

I have tried putting a 13 calibration into a 2008 cluster using DPS. It threw an error and the cluster is now bricked, and not responding.
Then I tried to put a 13 calibration in a 2012 cluster and it is now stuck in an infinite reboot loop.

I have a few more clusters I can afford to kill, but is what I want even feasible?

I am pretty sure the ECM is broadcasting the trans temp over GMLAN (because why not). Where are the instructions for the DIC stored, to pull the proper information?

Are any changes to the BIN files allowed? Can I change, for example, "SPEEDOMETER" to "   SPEED   ", and have it program successfully, or is there some sort of checksum validation happening internally?

Interesting. Trans temp is visible in GDS2, for sure.

How can I get the XML, as SPS only puts 3 bin files in the cache folder?

The topics are interesting. Did you manage to flash the ipc? Does the temperature inscription appear on the device?

The OAT display is easy as it's a factory option UFA, just flash the IPC with a calibration from a UFA van and it works.

I still was not able to obtain the XML, there is no IPC "Setup" option in the SPS for these vans. Does anybody know?
