I'm looking for a front camera K109 traffic sign recognition software cal file.

My current sw 39040942 is "without NaviLink " (Display of map based speed limits).

I want to try out sw 23432826, which is "with NaviLink " (Display of map based speed limits).

 

This car does have factory HMI2.5 with embedded nav (although, maps are from 2016).

K109 part number is 23398909.

 

I have attached latest files I've got from SPS for "without NaviLink" option, in case anyone might need them.

If you mean to display the speed limit on your IPC,  which is set in the HMI map files. That feature can be activated in the IPC via XML.

 

 

This file shows how to activate the Speed limit icon from Sat-Nav maps 
via IPC XML file editing.

 

I saw (and tried enabling) that option in XML a long time ago, but it did not change anything for me.

Either maps are outdated and does not contain speed limit info, or that CAL file is required after all..

I should have flashed the first option (as I did), and then should have went for the second option (with NaviLink) - to get the files at least.. That was not so well thought through on my part.

Having done this to a Regal TourX/Insignia B recently, I can say that enabling the XML in the cluster wasn't enough to fully activate sign detection - the feature needs to be activated in the XML for the camera as well.  If only one or the other is active, something will be broken - you may be able to have the sign recognition page active in the cluster, but it either will show a sign with dashes in the middle or will display the message "Traffic Sign Detection Failure" in lieu of the sign info.

 

I can't say for sure, of course, as I don't have access to an Insignia A - but I would be very surprised indeed if you didn't have to edit both the IPC and camera XMLs in order to make it work.

No, don't get me wrong - system is working at the moment as intended. It detects and recognizes traffic signs (at the best of its abilities) and show them in the left corner of IPC.

 

What I want to try - is to see speed limit constantly, not only when approaching a sign. There are many situations on the road when for some reason you are not sure on the current speed limits, and you just take a guess and follow the flow.

 

To my understanding, the system should work as follow - it shows speed limits from the map database, and if the camera have read a sign which conflicts with database - it overrides it. And for me now, it only detects signs on the road.

That's pretty much correct - the display defaults to whatever info the maps hold, but the camera can override it when it sees a speed limit sign. 

 

The instruction to pull data from the maps, however, isn't in the cluster XML. I don't have it in front of me, but the Insignia B camera XML has an option in the reconfiguration section, down below the camera calibration files, titled something like "TSM_Map_Data_Enable". If that option is marked "false", it will tell the system to *only* pull data from the camera, and not the maps. 

 

Another possibility is that, for some roads, the map simply doesn't have data and there are no signs present/being picked up by the camera. It shouldn't be a problem on highways or artery roads, but side streets often don't have signs or map data, meaning nothing will display. 

 

I'd try looking for the map data instruction in the camera XML first.

 You should enable this in the IPC. XML has line where it is enabling speed limits to be pulled from Navi.

Also, there is no XML configuration file for Insignia A camera module. It is available in the next B model, so this doesn't help me.

 

After programming, SPS only performs camera reset/initialization, no other options to choose from.

It says that lane assist/traffic sign recognition will not be available for ~30km, while system is relearning itself.

See if you have speed curve menu and speed menu are both enabled in the cluster's XML.

AFTER PROGRAMMING , CHECK ON GDS2 IF CALIBRATION FOR MODULE IS AVAILABLE,, SOME MODULE NEED TO CALIBRATE ON THE GO,, MINIMUM 30 MINUTES.

In case you need to see those. But that's not an issue - SYSTEM IS WORKING. It is doing exactly what it was programmed for.

Now I want to program the second option (why I am asking for file) and see how it behaves, and leave the one which suits me.
