I'm going to create a bench setup for Global-B architecture modules for experiments and hacking, and I will be buying some modules.

Does anyone know if the 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500 a Global-B architecture vehicle?

Its Global B,, All Modules Data Use Serial Data Gateway Module....

Yes Troy as i offer you before also, you can connect (teamviewer) with me to any GM truck 2015-2022 to do whatever you want to.

Thanks. I want to start figuring out how to change VIN and PIN in global-B modules, I need to have a working bench setup as a remote connection won't be the best way.

You are not correct. Latest Global A vehicles have SGM too. Please check Cadillac XT6 for example

2022 Silverado 2500 is not Global B. Silverado 1500 on the other hand is.

Cool thanks for that info. Yeah I was told that 2022 Silverado is Global-A 5 byte seed.

I am working on a 2022 GMC SIERRA 1500, the PCM is an E90 and it is GLOBAL B.

Let me clear confusion here, its not technically answer but it clears confusion, 

 

SDGM with 2 connectors is Global-A

 

SDGM with 3 connectors is Global-B

 

There's actually another one too...  The 2020 GMC shows a Gen 3 (not sure if there's even more!). Long story short but I've found out doing a different project.  Anyways, I got one from a 2019 Spark 1.4L which I believe is a Gen 2 and it only had two connectors but WAY more wires (more links to different busses) and doesn't quite operate the same.  It also wanted an MDI 2 (I only have a 1).  Anyways, I ended up buying one from a 2016 after which was a Gen 1 for what I need :).  I can pull the diagrams up for them as well if needed.  I tried using the Gen 3 but I was wasting too much time so threw it aside :).

Sometimes for diagnostic purpose I use MDI 1 with Global B (sometimes too lazy to go for MDI2). MDI 1 can't work with Ethernet bus only. For programming Global B I use MDI 2 only.

The timelines below for HS CAN Bus used on GM vehicles.

 

HS GMLAN … – Non SDGM - GMLANs accessible at the DLC

HS GMLAN … – Gen 1 SDGM – Infotainment isolation only, primary network testing still available at the DLC.

Gen 2 SDGMs – Not installed in any production GM vehicles.

HS GMLAN 2018 – Current Global “A” – Gen 3 SDGM - Complete network isolation.

CAN & CAN FD - VIP ( Global “B” vehicles) Select 2019 to 2022 models – VIP SDGM - Complete network isolation.

The Astra K, Insignia B and others GM cars have a K56 module but they are global A like this :

 

But only isolates a little part of the can bus low speed.

As i saw, the K56 in global B it's totally different. the DLC connector goes to this module, and from this modules, communicates with the rest of the can bus lines

Do you guys know if this gateway module is required to read global b modules on the bench? Can you not select the w/o gateway option in dps to read any global b module directly? 

I dont understand it's purpose, is it for managing too much information on the bus? 

From reading the GM docs, it seems all the modules communicate through the serial data gateway module. I also saw a reference for "service mode". Maybe the gateway module sends some commands to activate service mode for programming. I have one of these global-B 3-port gateway module on the way coming. I'll find out more when it arrives.
