You will receive a DPS archive file which can be used to change the VIN in any of these modules listed below.

Supported Global-A 2 or 5 byte seed modules.

IPC: Instrument panel cluster

BCM: Body control module

EBCM: Electronic brake control module
SDM: Sensing diagnostic module (Airbag)

EPS: Electronic power steering

ECC: Electronic Climate Control HVAC

1. In order to create the DPS VIN change file, you will need to provide the vehicle model name, the year the vehicle was made and the module's SPS utility calibration file.

Yes you can change VIN and PIN in all GM clusters.

each file work for all vehicles or i have to get one file for each VIN number

Each file works for that specific GM model vehicle.

Is this still able to be used on newer versions of Tech Connect/SPS2? I see a lot of tutorials, and screenshots you post have older SPS, just curious if it can still be used

Hi, It's not possible to change the VIN in the TCM using DPS. That's something I'm still trying to figure out.

I was thinking which vin number to give...

I have a car with all its original modules and not starting. Decided to buy all modules from an accident damaged car which was starting but couldn't manage to get the ebcm and tcm. So since you said the tcm vin can't be changed I'm thinking is it possible to change the ecm, cluster and bcm from the donor car to my vin?

I have the rcdlr and transponder as well, from the donor car. Is that going to work.

The car is a 2015 Chevrelot Captiva 2.2d

If it works then I will send my original vin

Hi Troy. I am building a custom truck with 2013 SS camaro interior, I have been able to program my BCM and ECM with SPS2. I need to change the VIN and PIN in my Gauge cluster. I would also like to turn off some of the errors. (Service electronic power steering, Service blind spot, Service air bag , Etc... Can you write a file for me to use in DPS to do this? (For payment of coarse) Thank you in advance. (I just want to get the immobilizer to learn my keys and get rid of the error codes on the gauge cluster. )
