Hi, no it will not clear the vin. It's the IPC calibration file with default settings for Silverado 1500 2015. In DPS format for quick programming without using GM SPS.

I don't know how to clear the VIN. I only know how to change the VIN to whatever VIN is needed. If that IPC supports XML files, you can use the XML method to change the VIN or use the DPS file below to change the VIN in the Silverado 2015 IPC. Mileage is stored in the BCM. After matching the IPC VIN to the BCM's VIN, the mileage will display correctly on the IPC. You can use the mileage change file below to change the mileage in the Silverado BCM.

Hello Troy.  With this file, am I able to input any desired vin, or will it seek to use the vin currently in the bcm?

maybe I referenced the incorrect file.  I thought you have a Dps archive to Change the vin in either 2 byte or 5 byte gm ipc

thank you Troy.  same question as previous--can I use whatever vin I need with this file or does the cluster just grab the bcm current vin once the script runs?

Troy Grand Master

Yes, you type in whatever VIN you need to be saved, and the DPS file will program that VIN into the IPC.

Similar process in this video.
