Matrix lighting enable disabled feature Cadillac XT6/Escalade

Hi,

I’m looking for a GM engineer or specialist who can explain how the matrix headlights work on the XT6 or Escalade (so far, these are the only two gas-powered vehicles that have this option).

My vehicle has upgraded headlights (3-lens, matrix), and when the vehicle starts, the LED zones turn on and off as part of a system test. However, the feature is disabled due to road regulations in the U.S. market, though it may be enabled in the Canadian and European markets.

I compared the front camera calibrations (which appear to be the same as the Canadian version) and the K26 module calibrations, and I found that the difference is in a calibration related to Advanced Forward Lighting. I have programmed the K26 module with the Canadian calibrations, and I also reprogrammed the BCM with the Canadian calibrations.

However, the lights do not seem to perform shadowing; they still simply switch between low beams and high beams.

Has anyone successfully enabled Adaptive Beams (matrix)? Is there anything else I might be missing?

I also noticed that there is an upgraded K26 module part number, and when I use that part number (SPS Info), I get completely different calibrations.

This was supposed to be a simple software upgrade, but it seems more complex than expected. Even worse, I can’t find any proof from anyone showing a working matrix headlight system in Canada or the EU.

So I’m not sure whether it even works outside North America. General Motors says it was just disabled in the U.S.—but who knows.

Yes, I'd look into BCM. I don't think the front camera calibration would needed to be touched. Just the AFL module and BCM.

I did, and after that I started getting headlight errors like “no communication with the body.”
I see there are different front-camera calibrations, which I will try.

I was thinking there might be someone who has already enabled Matrix and could give me some advice; otherwise, I’ll have to use trial and error.
Do you think that BCM should be reprogrammed as well?
