Anyone here know how to modify GM BCM programming? I have a 2014 Cruze and I'd like to disable hyper flash/bulb outage detection. I'll post my BCM read if anyone can help. Appreciate it.

i cant see vin of unit on flash,, you must include emulated eeprom or show vin to check exterior lights schematics if turn lights have outage signal feedback,, or you just change turn signal to led lights,, those are easy to fix without software editing...

The VIN is 1G1P75SZ7E7100249. I know I could use other methods, but I'd like to do this mostly for fun. I do Engine and transmission tuning ans thought it would be neat to do BCM as well.

your car is just an ordinary type of turn signal lamps installed, if you install ledd bulbs,, normal to hyper flash,,, only rsistor need to fix.

Yes, you can change a few bytes in the BCM calibration to turn off the hyper flash. I don't have it mapped yet for a 2014

You can pull the calibration from a cab and chassis only Chevy truck and compare it to a full Silverado that is optioned about the same and find the changes pretty quickly.

That's what I thought. But I didn't know how to go about mapping it. Would you be willing to send me whatever files you have? I think I could find my way around if I had a little direction.

I'll try and dig up a few calibrations and see what I find.

OK, this is kind of an educated guess since the 2014 Cruze BCM cal is different from the standard truck cals.

Make these changes to Cal #6 and report back.

0x2F4 - 01 Hyper flash on, 00 hyper flash off

0x307 - 01 Hyper flash on, 00 hyper flash off

Here are your GM calibration files if you didn't have them to flash with DPS.

how about set 0x00 for 0x32D, 0x331~0x333, 0x33A~0x33C to Cal #07? it will disable bulb outage warning on cluster and BCM DTC B3950, B3951.

Yes, the checksum will need corrected in the calibrations after modification

It worked! I followed @JBL_1989 's advice, and hyper flash is turned off! Thank you again.

I'm attaching the files. Maybe they can help someone else. I used my OBDStar DC706 to read and flash the BCM, but thanks @BLKATSG for the DPS files.

Does anyone have additional mapping for BCMs? Now I feel like digging deeper 😀

I made a little tool to correct checksums. It basically automates the process Troy describes. It worked good when I tested it. Let me know if you find any problems with it.

Mate your tool works great but you have the icon loading from your user desktop folder and not from the actual folder itself so it always tells you that icon cant be found. Small problem that does not affect the actual program but thought you might like to know in case you wanted to update it in the future.
