Hey guys, I’ve read everything I can read on all the topics I can without being a member. It’s not that I’m trying to skip out on becoming a “contributor” I’m just trying to understand if I’m even capable of doing what I’m wanting to do before I spend the money, drive a few of you nuts, or kill what I’m trying to save by screwing something up.

 

So here it goes. Long story short, I have a 2020 corvette that has a used rack and pinion put in it. I need to be able to reprogram it to my VIN to make it work. Right now it has the old car it came from’s vin in it. I’ve talked to a couple of you on here but on a scale of 1-10 how hard is this going to be… I have a VCX nano I just got to try to learn and attempt this with. What I’m worried about is if this doesn’t work? I’ll be 1400 in the hole for a new one PLUS all the money I spent trying to save this one. It is a Global B system is what I understand and idk how many people have worked with this yet. I’m sure some of you would laugh at the ease in this, however I’m definitely not one of those people… I’m freakin LOST on what I’m doing. I found a couple youtube videos of someone doing exactly what I’m wanting to do, however it’s a short video with no explanation or sound. I get it a little bit by watching but not all of it, and there’s obviously steps missing they didn’t show. If ANY of you are super familiar with Global B PLEASE let me know so when I “join” here my 30 days isn’t spent just trying to find someone for advice. Troy has answered a few questions by in Still SUPER nervous about even trying this.

Is not that hard job to relearn VIN. But will take good hour may be whole procedure. 

Sucks more people don’t know how to do this.. I’d pay someone in my area to do this!

Most of us know how to. We just not want to share it for free. Yes is place to help each other, but that have some limits. 

Understandable, and I just joined (subscribed)  so maybe someone here can coach me a little and I can pay them to help!

For any future people who may try to look up EPS on global B. The “module” you’re looking for is a chip that’s located inside of the assist motor on the rack itself on a C8 possibly others. If you can’t re-vin this part, you can save around 1500.00 U.S. dollars by just changing out the steering assist motor on the rack for a new one (about 675.00 U.S. dollars) it’s not the best option but it is an option!!! Talked to a remanufacturer today. I will now have an extra EPS “module” for research purposes and etc. I have not bought the new motor yet as I’m gonna give this one more shot with a fella I found but putting out options for future people hunting this exact issue!

I successfully reprogram used Power steering rack on Global B vehicle without any issues.

Nope, I do it online via TLC

If I can figure out how to contact you, I’ll pay ya to do it!
