If the IPC came from a Sierra, use the Sierra file.

Ask GM 🙂

Just old platform, I guess. They did not wanted to pay Mahle to incorporate legacy/outdated cars to new diag solution. They have Tech2Win for older vehicles - no need for a handheld tool.
Impalas are supported only from MY2014+

Which version out what's that support the North American GM globaltis

That depends if it's a 1500, or 2500/3500.  The 2500/3500 is the old platform.  The 2015 1500 is the new 2014-2018 platform, the 2015 2500/3500 is the old 2011-2014 platform.  I had a 2011 3500 and I have a 2015 2500.  I guess GM tests on their 1500's first 😉.

@Gilsauto, either file should work in theory.  Technically, it's an escalade cluster, get the escalade VIN file change.  If there is a difference, the utility will be related to that cluster.  For example, if the Escalade cluster uses a different algorithm, it'll be the Escalade file you want.  I don't know for sure, they might be close or the same.  Where you're going to run into trouble is the calibrations and configuration.  That's going to be more work.
