Can I install an Insignia B BCM in a 2012 Insignia A?

Opel SPS check the hardware, and if not match with the expectec, hardware mismatch error and cant programming.

 

@drstraleman the best is use the same part you have. change the vin, and pin and using SPS you can program it without problems

 

each BCM part number, uses a especific calibrations for it. you cant program a Insignia B bcm with calibrations from Insignia A for example.

 

Its true some cars uses the same BCM, for example. there are mokka uses the same BCM of astra K. (i have one of mokka in bench programed with Astra K calibrations and works fine)

Different hardware. May be will work, may be not. For sure will have some glitches here and there. 

will not work - different eeprom, different MCU on board. You can swap the same HW only.

@bajad some times allow is you swap different part number, but is not soo often. Then need VCI to allow you to load correct software. I do this very often and know. Ordered probably 100 of these VCI, but not always possible. And never try to use BCM from B in A. 

part no is not important - you can use any with the same HW inside. But if EEP and MCU is different you can do nothing. For Insignia A most BCM is with   70F3469+24C16  for Insignia B -  70F3558+24C32
