I am getting an error when trying to program the Serial Gateway module with SPS. It has 2 sides and the first side programs fine but the second side I get an error right as it is ready to finalize. E4423 error 5 at step 0, anyone know what might be causing this? Its frustrating because it was throwing an error, I don't remember for what and there was a bulletin on GM that said the module needed to be reprogrammed. Now it stops here and my dash is lit up like a christmas tree

 

Any way you could mock it up on the bench? Maybe interference from something on the car, or wiring?

This error can be hard to diagnose, because it means that the application can communicate with the module but the it is unable to write all or part of the calibration due to an incompatibility. The most common cause of this is an aftermarket item being wired into the communication bus. 

No I don't have a bench set up, I was hoping someone would be able to understand the line and trace information. I am sure it is another module in the car that it has to communicate with to complete the process just don't know what one. 

is this the original ecu or replacement?

could you share spslog, maybe it help to understand

Do you have a MDI2?

If this car is Global B - there was a notice that some modules cannot be programmed without MDI2 (or equivalent) hardware.

that car is 100% global a 5 byte.   have done 100's of them 

programming error occurs for the following reasons
1- software mismatch of the dashboard control unit and BCM
2- mismatch of lag values in the firmware for updating
3 the vin code and karpas in the eeprom have not been replaced with the necessary configuration file \Production is Troy wrote in the topic about dashboard updates \ read this topic carefully.

Well finally getting back to this vehicle, kinda pushed it out of the way and moved on then had an unexpected personal issue. I just reprogrammed the instrument cluster and the BCM no problem, Side 1 of the gateway programs no problem at the end of programming side 2 I get the error it is frustrating. I am also noticing that I am unable to communicate with a lot of the low speed serial devices but that is likely due to the incomplete programming of the gateway.
