Hello everyone, I'm Aaron from the US, Kentucky to be more exact.  I've grown up around various types of farm equipment, cars and trucks and I've always been pretty comfortable working on mechanical equipment and I'm young enough that I did absorb a fair amount of electrical knowledge growing up as well.  I am 41 now, so in my first vehicle, a 1994 Dodge Ram, you could key-cycle the ignition to read DTC's by counting the number of flashes from the MIL that followed.  It's safe to say that the electronics on board have gotten significantly more advanced since then and with the push to electric vehicles, it's going to do so faster than ever.  Comparing the module list on TISWeb between my 2014 Cruze and my mother's 2018 Buick Lacrosse showed an additional 13 modules on her vehicle versus mine!  Anyway, back in 2000, I started my undergrad in mechanical engineering, thinking I might possibly end up in the automotive world, but my dream was actually to design roller coasters!  Ha!  In all of my 41 years, I've strived to never lose the ability to have fun and be a kid and even though I'm not designing coasters, my job as a test engineer, doing seismic and environmental standards testing on new products is pretty darn close.

 

I want to express my gratitude to Troy for sharing his knowledge and providing this space for all of us to learn... and maybe sometimes drive him a bit mad with numerous questions!  I started diving into the nuts and bolts of the GM modules and Global A architecture when GM decided to leave their US customers that have 2G CDMA OnStar modules behind once the 2G network is sunset and I wanted to properly install and calibrate a newer GSM version from a salvage vehicle.  I discovered the GM DPS software on a different site and soon ran across a post from Troy which led me to this site.  DPS is not a program that is easily obtained without paying someone or having a good friend that has it and there is nobody that I felt comfortable with or trusted giving my money except for Troy.  I have read several articles here and I have a great deal of confidence in you and what the community you've built offers.  So I appreciate all you do for those of us that aren't as adept at programming and fixing the cars we drive!

That's true Troy is Genius , humble and good teacher, I take him as my teacher i learned a lot from his tutorials and videos ,Thanks Teacher for exploring knowledge to us . 😇
