Insignia 2010 Bench Loom Setup & 2014

Featured Replies

Hi,  I would like to create a bench setup.  I have a spare 2010 Insignia car with dead engine so I want to build something I can program parts, radio etc without using my working car.
I did this with a vectra years ago, it needed the BCM, CIM &  12v+ and - connecting to each unit and plugs to the IPC, DIAG Port, Radio etc with everything looped for CANH, CANL so GM lan could talk to each unit.
Is the insignia different?  I know I will need the BCM but what else will I need from the donor car?
Any help is good help and appreciated.  I need to try and get the Navi 600 and 900 unlocked from theft lock but dont want to kill my working car in the process 🙂
I have the pinouts for 2010 plugs and 2014 plugs.  Just need to know what hardware is required.

If you can get the whole wiring loom from a donor car, all you would need is a power supply to power the modules.

The whole wiring loom makes it much easier.

I use an old xbox 360 power brick to power my setup.

It outputs 12V at 16.5amps which is more than enough for all the modules.
