Hello, I'm new to this forum

I wanted to ask if anyone has already done a swap from the HMI 2.0 module to the HMI 2.5 module on an American car.

I have a 2015 Corvette (US imported) which mounts an HMI 2.0 module but the navigator does not work (can't find the satellite).

I've seen in other forums that many have upgraded from 2.0 to 2.5, but is it possible to make it work with European maps installing the SW for the European model?

Does the hmi 2.5 have the same hw for all models? For example, can I buy any hmi 2.5 and then program it with the correct sw or do I have to look for a compatible model for the Corvette?

Hi, for the HMI 2.0 upgrade in the European market, one method is to replace the HMI and radio module. The used HMI and radio will be locked to the other vehicle. The file below will remove the theft lock from the used secondhand European market HMI and radio module using the DPS software tool.

1. Purchase a used functioning HMI 2.5 module from a website like eBay in Europe. (Any HMI 2.5 module with a GPS antenna port connector taken from a GM European-market vehicle will work. One taken from a 2019 or later vehicle is best, as it should already have the latest maps installed.)

2. You must also upgrade the radio module to one taken from a European-market vehicle that had the HMI 2.5 module (2016 or later vehicle).

3. You must replace the dual USB port with a single USB port if you want wired Apple CarPlay or Android Auto to work.

4. You must program the HMI via the GM SPS service or DPS, according to your vehicle's specs (The used HMI 2.5 module will have the previous vehicle's settings installed, for example, the vehicle's boot up logo etc). You will need to source a 2016-2020 Corvette VIN taken from a European-market Corvette, then use that VIN to program the HMI module via GM SPS service to regain the Corvette's boot-up logo, etc.) I have the HMI 2.5 premade DPS file for the USA Corvette, but not for the European-market Corvette.

The GM DPS file, which will remove the theft lock from the used European-market HMI 2.5 and radio module.

This file will restore the Corvette's boot-up logo and activate video in motion. The file was modified for the USA Corvette. The file will install fine on the European market HMI 2.5 module, but I don't know if it will work properly with the American market Corvette vehicle that has a European market HMI 2.5 module installed.

Do I also need to program it firts with the VIN of a European Corvette (like the HMI module) or directly with the VIN of my car?

I found for sale, a 2.5 hmi module from a Corvette for the european market (very rare) with EU maps.

If I wanted to use this module, what do I have to do to make it work on my Corvette (which has hmi2.0)?

Is it enough to change the VIN with the program I find in this forum for GM vehicles?

Does it work with an Opel radio module (silverbox) riprogrammed?

I thought the program you linked me was only for Opel/Vauxhall, (...This file will activate the HMI 2.5, HMI 2.0 and Radio/SilverBox module for Opel/Vauxhall IO6 to learn whatever VIN is stored in the BCM module...) not for all GM modules hmi, for example mine which is Chevrolet.

The HMI 2.5 VIN change files function according to which region the radio module is for, or which region radio module is installed in the vehicle. In your case, you need the HMI 2.5 and Radio/SilverBox DPS HMI VIN Change file as stated above.
