Hey guys... new to the site and need some help of course

A little introduction. Im Paul... from the US (Phoenix, AZ). Have a professional background in IT for the past 25 years.

Started coding HTML when I saw my first web site back in the 90s.

My coding has fell off but I still understand the concepts.

I have a 2019 GMC Sierra Denali with the Technology package. At that time, they didn't offer the trailer cameras if you also had the Technology Package RPO code. Starting in 2020 or 2021, they added support for a 10 channel VPCM (part number 84743036), which my truck came with a 5 channel (part number 846249864. There are some companies out there who charge a crap load of money for the things that are being discussed and done by users of this site and I want to become one of them.

Long story short, I want to add the 10 channel VPM to my truck and get some extra cameras for my truck to use.

My question is this.... I have heard that the VPCM (K157) is not VIN locked, but something, either in the HMI, the VPCM or the BCM will need to be configured to allow for these other cameras to be options for me to select on the camera view screen. I've heard that it had been done on other sites, but they wound up paying for the programming from one of these other sites and I would like to learn to do it myself. 1 for my own knowledge and 2, I don't like the thought of having someone else do what I can too.

I have a GM MDI and the DPS tool already. Where do I start and how can I get either of these 3 devices programed so I can add the extra cameras.

p.s. I ordered some new FAKRA cables and I understand that the camera channels in each of the 2 VPCMs are different and will need to break apart the FAKRA connectors to get them to the correct ports on the new VPCM. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As a side note, I also got a HMI from a 2021 Denali that I will want to swap with mine (Not sure what MY number mid or high it is, nor do I know the part number as I havent taken it out yet. My truck came with the IOT radio with NAV if that helps.). Does anyone know if the MY21HIGH Info 3.6 part number 84989265 has the wireless Android Auto and Wireless Carplay feature built in? At some point soon, I would like to swap this HMI unit and will be getting the calibrations needed from Troy once Im ready to change them.

MANY MANY MANY Thanks in advance.... hope to get proficient and become an active contributor to this site. So glad I found it!!!

Maybe you can consult the Service Manual of your car, get to know which modules it needs for input and output then reprogramme these modules. Some of them may need to be swapped.
