The modules appear to be the same but the label state otherwise. One is made for XM Satellite radio and the other Broadcast Receiver. 

 

Would the 13596607 radio be compatible with 13596605 after VIN change and SPS2 programming ?

Post photos of the connector plug ports for both radios.

Looks like the Antenna connectors are different color.

Yes they both are the same radio and are interchangeable. The radio that states satellite is for USA and the other one is for Isreal and the Middle East market. The antenna plug colour shouldn't be an issue.

Interesting. The original radio was for EU market (Germany).

 

Do you think changing the VIN and loading calibration files per VIN for the replacement radio would work ?

The EU market uses the Silverbox radio, which has a different label and plug.

Yes loading the calibration files from your vin will work.

Sounds good. I will give it a try.

 

Might be different for this particular car (Corvette C7).

I have same question regarding HMI 2.0

Yes SPS will program the replacement HMI.

 

In regards to the radio.

 

The EU version has different RPO code:

 

EU - U2Q - DIGITAL AUDIO SYSTEM INTEGRATED TYPE DAB/DAB+/DMB-R

USA - U2K - DIGITAL AUDIO SYSTEM S-BAND

 

Almost sounds like a hardware difference, maybe that is why the antenna color is different.

 

Either way, I will try the USA radio on EU system and see what happens.

 

 

There are different PN# for the US vs EU (export) antenna and EU has less connections FWIW

Both radios look the same with the exception of label and antenna color on the connector. See pictures above.

 

Part numbers are in fact different but trying to source EU one is hard...

 

Number of connectors is same unless you are talking about actual pinout.

Quick update.

 

I programmed the USA radio with EU calibration by VIN and the radio is now bricked. 

 

I can get ECU Data but the radio no longer programs with SPS2 or DPS.

 

During DPS programming i get a negative response when command 34 is sent (request download). 

 

It seems like the radio won't enter boot to start programming. 

 

I think the operational software (ID 1) which is separate from the calibration files (3-10) is not compatible with the hardware and wont pass boot verification. 

 

Ideas are welcomed.
